Joe Walker was born in Los Angeles and is the son of hard working, no-nonsense public school educators who were wildly enthusiastic about making sure all four of their kids got a college education. After graduating from Cal State Fresno with a BS in Mechanical Engineering he pursued careers in aerospace, manufacturing, construction and student ministry. He and his family of 6 have lived in Kirkland, WA since 1997. JWA Insurance Group was launched in 2005 with little more than a passion to serve people and provide for his family. From humble beginnings he and his wife Tawnee have grown their agency into a skyrocketing insurance and investment firm helping thousands of families all along the West Coast. Joe and Tawnee bring a unique balance of technical excellence and down-to-earth relatability that leads to the overall well-being and satisfaction of their clients.
Tawnee Walker-Principal Owner
Tawnee Walker grew up in Helena, MT and is the daughter of amazing parents who both grew up farming in the Dakotas and finally settled in the contruction industry in MT. She left home to earn her BS degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal State Fresno where she and Joe met and began a life together. She worked as an industrial engineer right out of college. When the market changed, she and her husband Joe moved to Helena to work the family construction business and begin their family. In 1997 the journey continued with a move to the pacific northwest and after years in youth ministry JWA was birthed in 2005. She is the magic that keeps our clients connected and our team thriving. Tawnee’s gifts in organization, systems and mathmatics have helped keep JWA profitable for almost two decades.
